(More customer reviews)We wanted a secure wall safe for our keys and this one is almost perfect. It has thick steel walls, sturdy hinges,and two heavy duty pins that engage the left side of the unit when the door is locked. It can be programmed to open via a keypad or opened with a key in the event that you forget the code. Although the keypad layout suggests that you could have two separate unique codes and assign them respectively to an "A" or a "B" button on the keypad, you cannot. Only the last code that you program will be recognized. This is a minor issue.
The cabinet is designed to be surface mounted; however, I wished to recess ours into the wall cavity between the wall studs. This required drilling two holes on each side of the cabinet for the mounting lag bolts and adding wood filler blocks to the wall studs because the width of the cabinet is much less than the space between our wall studs. Again, a somewhat minor issue for me.
Overall I think this is a great product and solved our key problem.
